1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies include local storage and scripts that load content from other services. They help a website work, remember your choices and, if you agree, understand how it is used.
2. Your choices
When you first visit, a cookie banner lets you Accept All, Reject All or Customize your choices. Necessary cookies are always active because the website cannot work properly without them. All other categories stay off unless you agree. You can change your mind at any time by clearing your cookies for this site or using the cookie-settings option on the website. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; blocking necessary cookies may affect how the site works.
3. Cookies we use
| Cookie | Provider | Category | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
cookieadmin_consent | ORBE Allende (CookieAdmin) | Necessary | Remembers your cookie choices so the banner is not shown on every page. | Persistent, until you change your choices or clear your cookies |
hc_js_gate | Hosting provider | Necessary | Security check that helps protect the website from automated attacks and bots. | Short-lived / session |
wordpress_*, wordpress_logged_in_*, wp-settings-* | WordPress | Necessary | Set only for site administrators who sign in to manage the website. Not set for regular visitors. | Session to 1 year |
Functional, analytics and advertising cookies. We do not currently use functional, analytics or advertising cookies. We do not use cookies to show you ads. If we later turn on a tool such as Google Analytics to understand website traffic in aggregate, it will only run after you consent to the “Analytics” category, and we will update this table.
4. Third-party content
To display our typefaces, your browser loads fonts from Google Fonts. Google receives your IP address and browser information to deliver the files. In the future, pages may include embedded videos from our podcast (for example YouTube), which may set their own cookies when you play them. See Google’s privacy policy for more information.
5. Updates
We will update this Cookie Policy whenever we add or change the tools we use. For how we handle personal information more broadly, see our Privacy Policy.
Please write “Privacy” in the subject line so we can respond promptly.
